Check out a fantastic set of music and interview with Yusuf (better known as Cat Stevens). He returned to the West Coast airwaves with a performance on Morning Becomes Eclectic on Friday.  The session includes a full band performance of seven songs – including “Don’t Be Shy,” “Thinkin’ About You,” and “Maybe You’re Right.”  You can also view a transcript of the interview about his life and music, with host Jason Bentley. Yusuf (artist better known as Cat Stevens) was scheduled to perform on KCRW’s signature music show Morning Becomes Eclectic with Jason Bentley on Friday, May 8 but his appearance has been postponed. Details on a new date/time will be forthcoming.

His invite-only May 11 show at the El Rey is currently still scheduled.

Not only will Yusuf be performing on Morning Becomes Eclectic on Friday, May 8, but KCRW will have an exclusive ticket giveaway for our members for a private performance at the El Rey on May 11. There will also be tickets given away over the weekend during our music shows.  Yusuf hasn't performed a concert in LA in more than 33 years. KCRW hosted Yusuf’s return to the stage in the U.S. over two years ago with a special KCRW acoustic session and interview at an invitation-only event at New York City’s Lincoln Center in December 2006, which is available in our archives. He is in town to celebrate the release of his new album "Roadsinger." Tune in to hear new songs and favorites from throughout his stellar career NEXT Friday, May 8.
