Our Guest DJ this week is none other than Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales. Believe it or not, he doesn’t know everything in the hugely popular online encyclopedia he helped create, but he does know a thing or two about music. Jimmy expresses his love for prog rockers Rush and talks about the song that made him realize the cultural impact of Wikipedia. He even tells a funny story about the origins of the “heavy metal umlaut.”

What I also said was that I'm a fan of Rush, too! But, I hold no allegiance to Ayn Rand, as both Neil Peart and Jimmy Wales do. I suspect Wales' interest in Rush is rooted in the Randroid connection, while my interest is based on Geddy Lee's kick-ass ability to cover vocals, bass, and keyboards.
