Brazilian Girls Perform a Special Set on MBE
Fans of the Brazilian Girls got a real treat today – the band showed their true musical chops, playing a set mostly with piano and vocals and just a dash of the electronic elements they are known for. Apparently, their equipment (and their drummer) didn’t make it down to the studio so they worked with what they had and the result was a very pleasant surprise.
Musical mastermind Didi and singer Sabina Sciubba seemed to have a lot of fun working up the songs with new, scaled down arrangements during soundcheck (and Sabina also rubbed her belly happily in front of the studio window, showing Nic she was with child.)
Because of the baby on the way, the band will be taking a year or so off from touring. See them now while you can, especially since their new album is so fantastic – as they told Nic in the interview, their first two albums were “cool” but they dug deeper into their personal lives for the new release. And “Good Time” just may be the party song of the summer. It always puts me in a good mood.
(and I can’t get the whistling from St. Petersburg out of my head!)
