Airborne Toxic Event on MBE

One of Los Angeles’ most promising local bands made their debut on MBE today. With an Eastside residency and a steady slate of live shows (including a sold out gig at the El Rey this Thursday), Airborne has quickly built a strong fanbase for their anthemic rock. They took it to the next level on MBE this morning, when the Calder Quartet (viola, two violinists, cello) joined them for their second set, especially on their hit “Sometime Around Midnight.” Mikel Jollet’s lush voice is an obvious strong point but the whole band is solid and far from trendy. They are the real deal.
